(23,926 posts)and doesn't this follow a recent and similar train of thought trying to discredit Alex Wagner...by stating she quit MSNBC because she was tired of covering for the WH?
boy are 'they' trying hard lol.

(1,475 posts)excluded and implicitly labeled for expressing an opinion. I am not attacking Wagner's position on the important topics of the day. I am simply stating that, in my opinion, she is annoying! To conclude that a poster is a Repuke, a troll, a teabagger, etc. for expressing an opinion about form, not content, is perplexing. So if I don't concur with the opinions of the masses on DU, I am tagged an outsider! How the hell is that a democratic principle? I understand that democratically speaking, all have a right to challenge my opinions and I respect that. To automatically disqualify a poster for expressing an opinion, is to behave as if this were an exclusive Richy Rich fraternity/sorority. How very, very republican is that!

(24,470 posts)and to come in and say that a good, progressive journalist most of us watch and admire annoys you doesn't look good for your bona fides as a Democrat.
You didn't even explain yourself in your OP, which is why we are questioning you.

(176 posts)Still haven't said what she did/said to annoy you. To come on here and make statement that you are annoyed with someone without giving a reason for said annoyance is suspect. Get it?

(17,609 posts)I have been expressing these same feelings to friends as soon as she appeared on msnbc. I always asked why did she get a show and who does she know. She has always been annoying to me.

(23,650 posts)inflammatory implications with no context. What are people to surmise? Alex Wagner is a black woman, who is generally respected on DU, who hosts a show on the only cable news channel that tilts ever so slightly to the left. By you attacking her like that without context, you naturally raise the ire of many here. It was a stupid, inflammatory post, especially with the tensions in Ferguson. and you need to reassess if you don't see that and still call yourself a Progressive.

(21,925 posts)and very unannoying in her style, unlike some. SE Cupp was ANNOYING and I'm glad they got rid of her. My favs on MSNBC would be Rachel Maddow (except when she's deliberately ducking any discussion of Palestine/Israel where she really disappoints me) and especially my hero, Joy Ann Reid who I think is tops and the best journalist on TV except for Amy Goodman.

(53,339 posts)It's just throwing a knock on the board and refusing to share more. Only 14 words. As if to say, "I'm annoyed by this person, but I'm not going to deign to tell you why."
Even after many replies and requests to elaborate, all we've learned is that the OP author's annoyance has nothing to do with anything Wagner has said. So what IS it? Her voice, her hair, her makeup, her wardrobe ("Turquoise? What was she THINKING?!!" . We still are not given even a hint.
Does that sound a bit passive-aggressive to anybody? And the poster gets to play the victim card because we're mean to him/her and suspicious about a mildly flamebait post from a new account. AND the poster asks OTHERS to explain what they mean by their replies!
I think I've just entered the Twilight Zone...
cornball 24
(1,475 posts)Wagner to have a grating voice and a demeanor that often does not reflect the serious nature of the discussion. I have not assailed her intelligence, her physical attractiveness nor her strength and character.
Your reference to the fact that I am new here sounds to me like I have to prove myself to you and your ilk and that I have no business posting an OP. Using a word like "perverse" regarding my OP is a bit over the top in my opinion.
As far as your entering the twilight zone, welcome.
BTW, it was encouraging to me that there were a few people on here that had the class to respond in a dignified manner. You might want to take a look at them.
pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)Was that so hard?
Do you understand why people find it strange that, despite multiple requests for elaboration, you withheld that information for 6 hours?
You don't have to prove anything to me (though I can't speak for "my ilk" . Just please treat us with enough courtesy and respect to actually clue us in on what you're talking about and not just toss off a flip 14-word comment as an OP. I think 'perverse' is a perfectly good word for what I've seen here.
If you want us to respond to you with dignity and class you might try treating us that way.
I have nothing against you and hope you'll consider what many of us here are telling you. Just be straightforward and you may do OK.
Welcome to DU, and good luck in your future endeavors.
cornball 24
(1,475 posts)my finding Alex Wagner annoying. I went back and read my previous posts and saw that I had not. My mistake! As someone who has worked on both Obama election campaigns, is horrified by what is being done to the people of Gaza, and sickened by the killing of Mr. Brown, I consider myself to be a staunch liberal. I accept your advice for future endeavors on DU. I'll interpret your little emoticon as a welcoming sign.
aint_no_life_nowhere
(21,925 posts)I just accepted that you can find a liberal on TV annoying and I don't think you're automatically an evil right winger for that. Honestly, I love Rachel Maddow but I detest her accent. It's like nails on a chalkboard and my devotion to her program for me is a testament to how much I love her despite how much those hard "L" sounds she pronounces deep in her throat drive me up the wall.
I think there might be a little hypersensitivity here lately because of the invasion of trolls. I have seen absolutely disgusting racist cartoons and posts lately by trolls who have been coming out of the woodwork over this terrible Ferguson matter. To me there was nothing whatsoever in your post that registered on my troll meter, but just a fellow liberal who doesn't like the style of a liberal TV journalist I happen to like. Hey, we're individualists with different tastes and we're not in lockstep because we're liberals.
