Gov. Chris Christie: Americans Turning Into Couch Potatoes

Gov. Chris Christie said the country is becoming a "paternalistic entitlement society" this morning in a speech at a conservative conference headed by former President George W. Bush.

Addressing Bush and other national Republicans, Christie said he hasn't seen a less optimistic period in the country in his lifetime.

"Government's telling them stop dreaming, stop striving, we'll take care of you," he said at a theater at the New York Historical Society. "We're turning into a paternalistic entitlement society. That will not just bankrupt us financially, it will bankrupt us morally."

"We'll have a bunch of people sitting on a couch waiting for their next government check," Christie said.

work . . . ?

Perhaps that good ol' boy Christie, having had a star hung on his ample ass for so long, has never experienced the kind of personal crises that cause one to look at "us" and call bullshit on systems that don't give a shit about us, let alone reward the best that I/we have to give them. Systems that only TAKE from you and then fuck you and we're supposed to be grateful for bullshit.

potato, give up YOUR government salaries, perks and benefits. Give up YOUR own government "entitlements", paid for by those you're so eager to screw over every fucking day. When's the last time you had a non-government (i.e., non-taxpayer-paid) job, you calzone-stuffing moron? When you were a U.S. attorney, you had no trouble sucking from the government (i.e., taxpayer-paid) teat, and now as guv you have no trouble doing the same? So when you gonna get off your own fat ass and quit relying on the government yourself?

give Mayor Booker a call and go out and help him shovel some snow on the streets. Stop going to FLORIDA, laying on a beach, looking like the local marine life.

And how much money have you sucked out of the government...how much is your gummit check you POS scumbag? Nothing worse then someone living off of taxpayer money, blasting the taxpayer as lazy and unmotivated!

I would say he bites the hand that feed him, but really it is a plutocracy now and we just have to get use to the rich berating the poor for being poor.

He's one to talk - if you want to talk about spoiled entitlement - look no further than the oil industry - they make billions and hundreds of millions in free government subsidies. Yet somehow we're the "entitlement society".

Good thinking Christie (or lack thereof) - keep being the blind, unable to think for yourself Reagan bot you are - we'll eventually throw your ass out of office.

Christie said while stuffing another potato chip in his mouth and checking the stub of his last paycheck from the government.

He may not be sitting on a couch, but I guarantee he is sitting.
