2. Sadly, we're so throughly gerrymandered

that even when we go blue at the national level, almost all of our state offices are Republican red. If I weren't tied down, I'd leave the state in which I've spent more than 44 of my 45 years on earth a resident for somewhere I could have 'representatives' who might actually come a tiny bit close to representing me, rather than spending all of their time trying to deny healthcare to anyone poor or female.
