Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhen GZ is caught, and he will be, he will go straight to jail. I'm sure there were warnings
from all directions to him and he didn't heed them. If he's in another country, he will be arrested and be sent to directly to jail. SYG won't help him with this latest development. GZ doesn't strike me as very smart, hiding is difficult and takes some smart cunning to successfully pull off. I'm hoping anyway.

(283 posts)What development has put him in a position to 'be caught'. Has a warrant been issued?
Edit: Now I'm even more confused. I saw on another thread that the OP wonders whether this is an FBI case, or Interpol....so I went to the news websites, for news that charges were filed...but find nothing. Why would the police be looking for him right now?

It's the prudent thing to do.

(5,317 posts)It looks like even Zimmerman himself since he has broken off contact with his lawyers.
My speculation:
1) These two lawyers talked to Zimmerman on the phone a few times, and came out to the media, to say they were representing him (heh, its the big time). But Zimmerman never thought he had retained them or hired them...and said get lost.
2) Zimmerman's website was usch an ill-advised and dumb stunt, the lawyers found an excuse to quit.
I really don't think his break-up with his lawyers automatically equals 'man on the run'. If he were inclined to run, he would have already done it, since today was supposed to be the GJ.

(21,078 posts)stay in the area, certainly not to leave the country if that is in fact what he did. They'll find him, it's just a wait and see what happens next.

(32,071 posts)He is not "on the run", there has been no attempt to "capture" him because there is no warrant for his arrest. I'm very sure law enforcement knows where he is at.

(37,648 posts)there is no warrant for his arrest. There is nothing to indicate the authorities don't know where he is. His lawyers stated outright he is not out of the country.
An arrest warrant will probably be issued, and my guess is he'll turn himself in.
He's hiding from the public because of the death threats.
