Legal question about Zimmerman leaving the country

Can Zimmerman leave the country legally, assuming passport and funds, etc ? My guess is yes. Am I wrong ?

eta: I was 99.99999999999999999999999999999% sure he could leave with no hassles but I'm no lawyer.

Too bad the prosecutors are so inept or corrupt, because he should have been held, or charged, or something.

Ofcourse he can leave the country. He can go wherever he wants.

It's a damn shame that he hasn't been charged with a crime.

He hasn't been indicted. He hasn't been summoned.

Transferring large amounts of money out would be problematic. Anything over $3,000 in currency results in a major hassle.

He doesn't strike me as the type to have a passport and leave the country to go mingling with people who are not like himself.

No reason it would not be given to him, but the effort would bring its own publicity.

Zimmerman website does get money that George can use on the lamb. We may NEVER see justice in this case.

Lawrence O'Donnell is talking about this now.

You may not be a lawyer but your instincts were correct. He's under no obligation to stay in Florida, or anywhere else for that matter.

When the attorney said:

"You can stop looking in Florida, you can look much further away from that,"

http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120410/NEWS90/120419977/-1/NEWS

...I took that to mean "You can also stop looking in the United States."

My guess is he's going to live the Roman Polanski life, financed by the suckers who sent him money via that Website for his "legal expenses."

I think Zimmerman is still in the US, just not in Florida. If he's charged, he'll stand trial.

Maybe hes being tailed? Free to move around, but the minute he makes a move to flee the country the SP issues the arrest warrant and hes picked up.
