Wow, apparently even greater than Hitler's Luftwaffe.
The threat level is severe, which means an attack is likely, but UK officials say there's no evidence that an attack is imminent.

It's like the rerun of a bad movie.

(82,849 posts)You're starting to sound as craven as some people in the United States, who are scared right down to their silk shorts that ISIS is only a plane flight away from invading the United States, conquering the country, and setting up the 498th Caliphate (or something).
Or, wielding Occam's Razor with a vengeance, these are people trying to scare other people because the fear and confusion will make them money. In which case, ignore these greedy, blood-soaked fuckheads.

(21,786 posts)the British public are not especially keen on further military adventures in the Middle East. The US is pressing the UK to join in airstrikes against ISIS. Claiming a threat gives cover for joining in military operations. (It's worth remembering that the UK has significantly more democratic accountability in terms of deployment of military force than the USA does.)

I think the analysis that Mr Cameron is courting the xenophobe vote is probably spot-on.
