Three Malaysian women, apparently sympathetic to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), have reportedly travelled to the Middle East to offer themselves sexually to militants, an Malaysian intelligence official said in an interview published Wednesday.

“These women are believed to have offered themselves in sexual comfort roles to ISIS fighters,” the intelligence officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The Malaysian Insider.

He added: “This concept may seem controversial but it has arisen as certain Muslim women here are showing sympathy for the ISIS.”

So-called Jihad al-nikah, permitting extramarital sexual relations with multiple partners, is considered by fringe hardline Sunni Muslim Salafists as a legitimate form of holy war.

1. Sort of like temporary "contract" marriages, but with very short term contracts.

Shorter than the usual terms, certainly, which IIRC, had a minimum of something like forty days.

It's an aspect of the culture that I found very exploitative and disturbing, particularly if the woman didn't have anyone to drive a hard bargain for her...and no, I'm not talking about a pimp, just a savvy relative who would ensure the poor woman didn't get screwed while... ugh, never mind.

I don't care for the practice at all. It's not uncommon in Iran. More common when times are tough.

I can only imagine how deprived and hopeless their lives must be, to consider such an affiliation a viable option.

5. "apparently sympathetic" makes this offering up very suspect.

I would like to talk to the women to find out how willing they are. Betcha they are no different than the Korean "comfort women" to the Japanese troops in WWII who were in fact kept as unwilling sex slaves.
