Relax, ladies!

Reince Priebus has just re-ASSerted that the war on women is fiction! Whew, what a relief! Glad to know that I've only imagined all that trans-vaginal ultrasound stuff and the republicans' refusal to extend the Violence Against Women Act and the languishing ERA and the republican legislators' efforts to redefine rape and and and and ...

4. "War" is certainly not the word

A "war" is when both sides are fighting. If you ladies would just get with the program and stop all this resisting of your betters, there'd be no dispute at all! So it's really women who have declared a war on Republicans. See?

I know we're both just goofing on this, but it will not surprise me in the least to see some Republican knucklehead put this argument forward in the coming days, weeks or months. Further, he (it will be a man) will receive a respectful hearing from his cocktail party pals in the popular media. And all involved will blink their eyes in bewilderment as decent people call them out on their fatuousness.

Thanks for that, it made me smile.

What were they thinking when they put a guy named Reince in charge? At least Michael Steele was fun to watch. This guy seems like just another plastic creation popped out of the GOP factory mold--soulless, obnoxious, and about as far from the common person as you can get.

5. Stop living in the reality-based community, gals!

This is the kind of thing that makes me think of the Rovian "conservatives-create-their-own-reality" vs "liberals-use-facts-to-discern-reality" thing.

Repubs: "There is no war on women, because I said so, and that makes it a fact. I create reality, dammit!"

Dems: "Facts (denial of contraception & abortion, slut-shaming, not extending VAW act, etc.) indicate there is a war on women."

indicates they are all a bunch of perverted freaks.

It's not as if there have been too few examples of their various perversions over the past two decades. Arm a few of the C St. neighbors with surveillance cameras, and document the parade of hookers, rent boys and circus animals going in and out of that house.
