Make no mistake...Cell Phones can be hacked---and rather easily.

Be careful (Android users) with 3rd party Apps and do your best to research the legitamcy of an App before downloading.

These bad Apps sit on your phone and can register every keystroke you make...meaning...they can get your passwords, user names, etc. And of course if a hacker obtains this info...they can log into your Facebook account, Twitter and everything else.

Also...and this is important... Be sure to software/firmware upgrade when asked to. These upgrades contain security patches that are important.

And finally... Don't take nude pictures on your cell phone if you don't want them in the public domain. Especially if your are a celebrity. Most cell phone pictures hit the cloud as soon as they are snapped. Meaning--- the privacy of your picture is severily compromised.

PS: make an investment for Cell Phone protection against malware. All the major security software companies provide this protection. It helps quite a bit.

Any system is only as secure as the people who have access to it. And all too fallible humans have to have access to systems simply to be able to fix code, or rewrite it to add new things, which means that some generic people out there have access to everything. No matter how draconian the penalties, somebody, somewhere is going to be tempted into doing things you don't want with your data if you allow it to get out. I hate all of these 'cloud apps' and machines that are connected to the net by default.

I think it's kind of an odd quirk in our culture that this sort of thing, the "nekkid selfie," is becoming so popular. I came from a generation where that wasn't viewed as appropriate. Now that it's "OK" the people of my generation, were they to take such a pic, would be mistaken for topographical maps by that "Search for this image in Google" thing-y!

There is nothing wrong with being careful in all of our affairs, whether they include the latest technology or not. Yes, we all have a right to privacy and having your photos (no matter what they include) easily available for the world to see because someone else decided it was their right to share them, is disturbing, being prudent in what we do never hurts.

The old saying...."An ounce of prevention....." comes to mind.

My phone takes pics, videos, I can text w/it, and it costs me a hundred bucks a year! I can even connect to the internet at usurious rates if I'd like--but I don't do that.

If I want to move a picture off my phone, I have to either go through about four steps to send it to someone else, or download it via a dongle-thing.
