I was thrilled to be voting for the first time. I helped elect a Democratic Governor. He turned out to be a crook. Did I deserve that?

But I sometimes feel like it's pointless when those we put in office turn out to be nothing like what they campaigned to be. Doesn't mean I'll stop voting, but it does give me some understanding of why some people don't bother.

was just a bunch of BS to get elected. I think some people have just given up, they feel the system is so rigged against them. Citizens United was a huge WTF for me ... and indicated to me how unfair the system is and that's apparently the way SCOTUS wants the country to be. I've become very disillusioned, but I will continue to vote.

Which of course use those funds to deny people the vote, to crush labor, the environment and basic human rights and to line the pockets of lobbyists who make sure they are the only voices heard.
