No one has held bankers accountable for stealing homes through illegal foreclosures, and these practices continue today with the help of HAMP and HARP which further screwed people over.
We have millions of veterans on the streets homeless, millions of school children starving...and we have the nerve to point the finger at other country's problems ans suggest spending our money to help them, even as the same people complain about having to help the unemployed they created with their 'free' trade agreements.
And speaking of 'free' trade agreements, this is really the reason the economy is Fucked up, the reason so many lost their decent jobs, their benefits, their homes.....and here they are about to do another secret free trade deal, the TPP.
There are way too many problems to list, but you all get the idea.
Who the hell do we think we are- we are not taking care of people in America, time to look inward.
How do we take the narrative back in this country?
Everyone hates, doesn't trust etc. the corporate media, and yet, they still lead the discussion in this country.
No matter what bullshit they want to make up about ISIS and the need for war, we listen. Why?
These bastard Republicans were just blaming poor people for the deficit they created with the illegal and immoral war in Iraq, and now they want to do it again. And they won't even take care of the veterans they already created.
It is infuriating!!! These people need to shut the fuck up.
They need to be put in the corner like a toddler acting out, while the adults fix the real problems with the resources we have left.

But then you hear "we must do this! we must do that"...somewhere else.
IT'S BULLSHIT! you are calling this correctly. I've worked professionally for over a decade and let me tell you it's the democratic leadership. They KNOW we'll vote them out, so we get whackabirds to vote for against them. Like Palin, Katherine Harris, Paul Ryan, Romney, those who would be worse.
The ballot is always empty of a real alternative. That's the game. Wake up.

(3,252 posts)Obama is no exception. The previous leaders have screwed up our country, and it is exceedingly difficult for Obama to fix this mess.

(21,786 posts)The USA is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, a leading member of NATO, has the world's most powerful military. Isolationism isn't really an option. Either you can give up all that power, or accept that it has some responsibilities.

(62,325 posts)with all its power and profit (for the very few) our priorities will ALWAYS be 'somewhere else' where what we thought we conquered may be in jeopardy, as conquered territories always are. It takes vigilance to hold on to conquered territories and their natural resources.
Once a nation becomes an Empire the needs of its people will always be secondary to holding on to the territories taken and it will cost huge amounts of money to do that.
If we do not want to be an Empire, then it is up to us as a people not to fall for the propaganda, which also probably costs a fortune, remember the Rendon Group which was paid millions of dollars to 'sell the War in Iraq' eg?
If we choose to fall for the propaganda as many did in 2003, there will always be more, so long as it works. As we are seeing again, now. The media is a huge part of 'catapulting the propaganda'. Notice the lack of real discussion or investigative journalism surrounding the subject of ISIS. That is deliberate. Just toss out a new horrendous threat, give it a name, produce scary images, talk about the threat to the 'Homeland', (mushroom clouds last time, sleeper cells right here etc) and bingo, the people scream for military action, again. Even though it failed so spectacularly last time, at least as far as what we were told it would do.
It's up to the people. Sadly the people, as a famous propagandist so correctly stated, 'can easily be brought along'.
