Now, his office says West was referring to the Congressional Progressive Caucus when the freshman Tea Party favorite made his remark at a town hall meeting Tuesday night.
<snip>
The Congressman was referring to the 76 members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The Communist Party has publicly referred to the Progressive Caucus as its allies. The Progressive Caucus speaks for itself. These individuals certainly aren't proponents of free markets or individual economic freedom.
We called Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., a co-chairman of the progressive caucus, for a response. The Florida Democratic Party sent out an e-mail with a round up of clips about the West remark.
"With his claim that nearly half of the Democrats in Congress are members of the Communist Party, West seems to be competing with Sarah Palin in the "going rogue" department," the Florida Democrats said.

(44,494 posts)....it isn't wrong for us liberals to say that members of the Tea Party are actually members of the National Socialist Party of America, right?

Americans can decide if they want to embrace the governing style of Hitler or Roosevelt, who the right calls a socialist.
All the Fox viewers love bullies, so it's apparent who they'll pick, in their hearts, anyway.

(44,494 posts).....he's decided to run for Florida's 18th District instead. Apparently, Mr. "War Hero" was too scared of losing in the 22nd District and thought the 18th District was a safer race. Hopefully the voters of the 18th District (formerly disgraced Rep. Mark Foley's seat) will know better than to let him in.
