A friend of mine purchased a house a few years ago. The previous owner had died, and he bought it from her estate. After moving in, he found an old framed photograph, from the 1930s, of the previous owner. It was a professional photo of her, taken as a nude figure study. It was found on the top of a cabinet in one of the home's bathrooms.
He hung it on the wall in that bathroom. It still hangs there. The deceased prior owner still lives on in her home today, in a way, depicted in the prime of her life. It's a rather touching memorial to her, I think.

(149,580 posts)I've seen nude paintings in many bathrooms. Since we spend time bathing there, and that includes being nude, I think it's very appropriate.
And also since the owner/subject of the photo had it in that bathroom really clinches it for me.

I think MineralMan kept it there because the original owner had it there.

(146,286 posts)I have a photo of a cecropia moth caterpillar in its fifth instar in my bathroom, along with a watercolor by an old friend of a small brook. No nude photos. My own naked 69-year-old self in the mirror is frightening enough for me.
This is not my photo, but one of the caterpillar in the same stage. I raised mine from an egg, and then released the adult where I found the egg:
