The dog-kicking CEO of stadium caterer Centerplate has been forced to resign

Stadium catering company Centerplate will today announce the resignation of CEO Desmond Hague, 10 days after surveillance video emerged of Hague kicking and choking his dog in an elevator.

Centerplate, which handles food and beverage services for stadiums including Levi's Stadium, Qualcomm Stadium, Tropicana Stadium, FedEx Field, and the Superdome, had originally announced that Hague would be placed on probation, donate $100,000, and volunteer 1,000 hours with animal charities.

But today the Union-Tribune and Global News both report that following continued criticism, Centerplate has informed clients that Hague is being forced out of his job as CEO.

Good!
The video went viral and they got blasted.
Keith Olbermann kept bringing it up on his show.

by lying about ownership of the dog. No way the company could continue without firing him. I wonder if that got the concession receipts back from the weekend.

I was entirely prepared to pack my own food into games (Centerplate has the concession contracts for both Giants and Niner games, so they get way too much of my entertainment budget anyhow) until he hit the unemployment line.

Guess it took a dog to show people who he really is and is about. Should we all wake up to the fact that many in CEO positions are walking sadistic bastards too and they have no reasonable addition to add into our society.

There is a reason most of us feel what is happening with the disrespect and disregard for humans is just wrong... And it is these evil creatures that have risen to the top and treat people and animals and the planet emotionlessly. What good are any of these pariahs to society?

Just provides even more evidence for that study that indicated a high level of sociopathy among CEOs.

Happy this man suffers as much as that CEO who smacked and n-worded a child on a airline flight.

That this man had any influence or power over other people's lives. What does that say about those who let this man rise to the top? That they are just as sick and revolting? And I'm not sure that it is the example we should be setting for the world of business. Look at the story with the Grocery store recently... It doesn't have to be so nasty and cut throat to make a good business and be kind and caring.

There is a possibility that Hague will be charged with a crime today or tomorrow and that is what led to the timing of this resignation. We'll see.

I suspect pup abuse is common among CEOs. You know, considering their level of ethics and all.

That's what this was. A man losing his temper and taking it out on a smaller, defenseless dog.

As an animal rescuer, I wouldn't WANT this bozo doing 1,000 hours with animal charities. I want him as far away from all animals as possible.

I think he is a sadist who enjoyed tormenting the dog. When he jerked her off the floor by her leash, I so wanted to be there to hit him.

I don't care whether he lost his temper or is a sadist, I would have gladly stood with you had I been there, to hit the SOB, myself.

My point is that it's not okay to hurt other living creatures who are helpless to defend themselves. He's an asshole, and I think it's appropriate that he lost his job.

I DO NOT ever think that the appropriate "punishment" for someone who hurts an animal is to spend time around other animals. That seems to be the normal course of action (i.e., Michael Vick working alongside the U.S. Humane Society), but IMHO, it is NOT appropriate.

THEN think of what this person did. We are talking about someone with maggots in the heart. Yet, this is who our society worships, someone who will probably be right back, ready for Fox to praise.
