Cee Lo Green: It is only rape if the victim is conscious

CeeLo Green has deleted his Twitter account after sharing his controversial rules on rape.

The singer – who recently pleaded no contest to charges that he gave a woman ecstasy without her consent in 2012 – appeared to be saying that it is only rape if the woman is conscious.

“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously,” he said, adding, “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”

“When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof that anyone was raped,” he continued.

The woman had claimed that she had woken up next to Green not knowing what had happened, but due to insufficient evidence no rape charges were filed. Green’s lawyer said they had “consensual relations”.

The majority of rapes are committed by somebody the victim knows: a partner, a friend, a family member. The whole point of casting doubt on rapes that don't result in dramatic crime scene photos is to create an environment where the vast majority of rape is consequence-free.

Somebody please keep this thread for the next time some genius tries to argue that rape culture is a thing feminists made up because we're overly dramatic.

Black, White, or Other, America loves it's celebrities over having a collective soul.

Rappers, Athletes, or Waspy TV show hosts, their fame far exceeds their shame.

if she is unconscious or significantly impaired by drugs or alcohol. Therefore, her unconscious state would automatically mean having sex with her would be rape.

Is he still one of the stars on that reality show for singers? If so, he'd better get dropped, and pronto, with no weaseling around about it.

Quite apart from being ridiculous, his comment doesn't even make sense. It would suggest that if a rapist manages to knock his victim unconscious, he hasn't raped her.

I truly can't believe that a human being (like that) could be 100 percent...not 99.99999...but 100 percent untrustworthy.
A woman couldn't even faint around this "thing" without possibly being raped. Just blows my mind...
