I'm trying to understand any positive points the organization may have and request anyone with positive info to please post it.

The media seems replete with negative data but feel free to add your own.

By the process of metabolism they convert oxygen into carbon dioxide and water vapor. With every exhale of these waste products from their bodies, they in turn fuel the metabolism of the nearby plant life, which in turn converts CO2 and water into sugars, thereby releasing the oxygen we and other animal life breathe in, and of course, producing nutrient-rich fodder from browsing creatures!

...well, you did say any redeeming qualities, didn't you?

Through circumstances and/or choices people lose touch with
that innocence in themselves. But it remains, at the core of
every living person. Kittens will trigger that feeling in anyone.

And I would think that, living a life of such darkness and
madness, even by choice -- a person would still have a profound
hunger for just a speck of innocence and love.

by the use of NLP techniques embedded in the videos, sermons and slogans.

That's why a lot of them are impressionable teenagers and gullible idiots.

Their original personality is still underneath there somewhere.

Deprogramming one would probably take a while.

29. Honestly? The same could be said of a lot of military forces in the world

I mean really, through history, the goal has been to take impression "excess" young men, fill their heads with tales of courage and duty and honor fighting "those evil people over there" then setting them loose. hat some propagandizing techniques are more sophisticated than others doesn't really change the reality there.

Our guys torched My Lai and Fallujah without much blinking. Our friends in israel just flattened swaths of Gaza without a second thought. Young men in India and Pakistan have been shredding each other for decades because their cause is righteous, and here, is just the latest incarnation of "Fight for glory and die with honor" to come out of the whole sad sorry process.

Speaking as a recently-young man myself, I'm actually talking from experience. Here in the US even there's a real cultural push to "prove" yourself through combat of some sort - whether through gang involvement, joining the military, or via proxy through sports. The belief that you're "less than a man" if you can't fight, or aren't interested in weaponry When I was young, i was part of a group of thuggish jackasses who liked to go out and pick fights with some of the local racist fuckwits. i thought I was a fucking hero, doing that. Not only was i knocking blood out of some potato-headed shit's mouth, but, well, he was a potatoheaded shit, right? it was community service! Self-defense! i was taking care of people by getting into these fights. That's what we all told ourselves, anyway. Fucking lucky it was just fists and feet, and looking back it was one of the flat-out dumbest endeavors I've ever engaged in. But at the time? I wanted to fight. I was angry. Had nothing else to do. it seemed like a grand idea, becoming a local hero by dealing with the scabheads. and the really weird thing is? That's still there, in part of me. Oh i can look back and say i was a young, dumb thug who probably deserved to be arrested, and I'm ashamed to have engaged in that sort of shit - all true - but at the same time, i'm also not ashamed. It's not really a conflict, i kno which is the correct view, but that's still there, that feeling that I was accomplishing something through violence, through demonstrating my "prowess on the battlefield." if you will.

That ISIS can capture the dreams of aimless, anxious young men with tales of taking arms for a glorious cause doesn't make ISIS special. if anything it may be the most normal thing about them.

These things look like omlettes made with eggs from chernobyl Farms.

Seriously, Voice for peace has just led me to the strangest rabbit hole I've ever seen. And brother (sister?) I've seen some pretty fucked-up rabbit holes - i used to write My Little Pony fanfic, for fuck's sake, and this is stranger than any of that.

It's strange enough that admitting to writing that stuff seems almost normal in fact.

...oh shit.

the War Gods for a solution.

How many Sunni Muslims are on the planet? How many are part of ISIS?

They WANT us to attack them because they know it will help their movement cause they have such great recruiting potential with all of the Sunni people who are not yet part of their movement.

I maybe incorrectly assumed that you were trying to create somewhat of an echo chamber in this thread. We are not toddlers - we all know that ISIS is bad.

I posted a poll because lots of folks like to vote (I hope; we're Democrats, goes with the ideology).
I hoped, if anyone voted yes, they'd share something positive. At the moment, it's not looking good.

The poll was kind of a shameless ruse to garner attention.
