Could it be that many of the newer hires were vets who returned from Iraq and Afghanistan? I'm not putting down vets, by any means, but I'm wondering if they are bringing their military training to our streets, as well as any PTSD or other underlying problems? It is good that they can find work, but it just seems like today's police forces are short on patience and fast on the trigger/fists. Granted, they are also exposing themselves to some pretty bizarre weaponry that shouldn't be allowed, thanks to the NRA.

I hope I'm wrong.

The company formerly known as Blackwater then Xe and now Academi has been in charge of training our police departments in many places around the country. This is horrible in my opinion, but it explains so very much.

It is apparent that today's police forces in many places around the country are being trained to view the citizenry as the enemy. I have no idea why police officers who have had the conscience to quit today's horrific police forces (in some cities they are horrific) do not speak out. Surely there have been some police officers who have quit due to a crisis of conscience. Where are they?

We are very fortunate to have a normal PD and sheriff's office where they work WITH the community to solve problems. I can't imagine some of these police departments that are rearing their ugly heads in today's society. Problem is, how do you de-program them?

I heard a comment the other day that it wouldn't be too surprising if Blackwater-types had hired on to ISIS, since they'll do most anything for the almighty dollar. God help us all if they are deeply involved with our law enforcement.

Blackwater has been involved with training police departments around the country for some time unfortunately.

There is lots of information out there if you Google "Blackwater training police". It has been and is happening, and Americans have allowed it to get this far.

What steps should the public take to protect themselves against an enemy more threatening than the terrorists?

Seems to me all local police departments should be under strict surveillance by the NSA. We should have powerful military forces at the ready to counter dangerous police forces.

What? You don't think so? Why not?
