2. Encourage political reconciliation in Iraq and government restructuring in Syria

3. Ramp up military involvement in both those regions

4. Bolster Sunni moderates in the Middle East

5. Resist sending American troops into combat while still bolstering U.S. personnel in the region

4. Right. Same as the Jews in Europe weren't our business during Hitler's time.

Six million of them weren't our business -- till they were.

13. You actually think WWII had anything to do with the Jews and other minorities in Europe..?

Shit... Jews couldn't stay in half the hotels in big cities or belong to the Country Clubs. Jews had a hard time immigrating into the US. In November of 1942, the US announced that Germany was instigating a "final solution" to the Jews in Europe. You'll recall we joined the war about a year before that date, and were doing everything to defeat the Axis, but it had little to do with the Jews.

Another false analogy.... the US and Allies were fighting full-on state actors in WWII. Conventional armies. This is a bunch of loons spawned from another bunch of loons. There has never been more than 25,000 Taliban. How many ISIS warriors do you imagine there are? Want to do a full war on them...?

Want yet another round of Middle-East Whack-a-Mole? $6 Trillion and 7000 US dead weren't enough?

Can't we stay out of just one of these clusterfucks?

15. That's not what I said. I think we should have intervened before 6 million Jewish people died.

I think our own anti-Semitism, coupled with our policy of isolationism, led to needless deaths, and WW2 would have ended sooner if we had intervened earlier.

I agree that Iraq is a very different, complicated situation. But it's also too simplistic to say, "none of our business."

to average joes that think they are real hillbillies. No loss. It's just a matter of time before they end up on Jerry Springer.

Maybe somebody should ask the Iraqi gov't/people what they would ultimately like Iraq to look like. If they don't care about holding onto western Iraq then maybe some of it should be partitioned off as a big insane asylum--I mean caliphate --for the ISIS psychopaths.
