Yes, very likely. Obama is naive enough to fall into such a trap.

Yes, likely. I don't trust Obama to resist that kind of pressure.

No, not likely. Obama is a smart guy who I trust to do the right thing.

(30,481 posts)but I don't agree with the premise he will do the right thing. Do I think he will be duped? no. Is he smart? yes. Do I trust him to do the right thing? no. If anyone trusts a politician at this point in time then they are fools or one percenters.

Hint: I'm not a Romney kind of guy. At his best he is very creepy.

(20,885 posts)In the struggle for society, between the sane billionaires and the insane billionaires, Obama seemed more aligned with the sane billionaires, and ostensibly more moderate militarily. But one can never know, can one?
Do you think I did wrong? Who would you have recommended?

(19,497 posts)When I think of the MIC I think of a threat that is an existential threat to life and liberty across the breadth and depth of the world. Anyone serving such a thing can bring no good thing with them. No amount of healthcare or education could counter such a thing and in fact should probably be seen as either a ruse or yet another means attaining of control.
I reject the premise Obama is a part of the MIC, unwittingly or otherwise.

(4,465 posts)I can say this, I was shocked by the rhetoric I heard coming from Obama and now Biden about the beheadings that took place. They reek of the same Cowboy mentality that I heard coming from bUsh all those years ago. Follow Them to The Gates of Hell is not much different than Wanted Dead or Alive.
I think the thing that will prevent another unnecessary war is the American People. We've now seen up close and personal what it can do to our men and women and that it is not as easy as going in to liberate-
As bUsh said: "Fool me once, shame on shame on you. Fool me you can't get fooled again."
I am hoping that that is the case anyway, that Americans don't want another war...
