Even today there's a double standard, a man can sleep around and sleep around...

..and no one says anything. But a woman, 19 or 20 mistakes, and right away she's a tramp.

That's why Joan was great...a topical truth and made it funny.

"Slut" is really a useless word. Judgments on private behavior. Not anyone's business, IMO.

Women are held to a different standard in many other ways as well.
