So far I've read a lot of negative comments here about him, but I don't know too much about the guy aside from how he sometimes subs in for Ari Melber on The Cycle.

as can be imagined. If his name were Luke Jones he'd be the weekend fill-in sports guy on a 5,000 watt radio station in East Jesus, North Dakota.

11. NBC tribute to Tim?

The loss of Tim Russert was devastating to the news division and to the faithful of MTP, hiring and mentoring Luke imo appears to be a way to maintain the connection to his father and his enormous contributions to NBC.

If Luke is not up to par, needing to do the local news and journalist road to the big time, rather than carte blanche to the adults' table, blame the news division and their president.

Tim was the "golden boy" loved and respected by colleagues and politicians, of all stripes. But further, he's young, fresh, and he appeals to the new young demographic, and if you're over 50(no offense) his hire is not for you, I suspect.

I'll admit he is getting better at his job. That just means he'll be more effective for the right though.
