(68,644 posts)And the former Monsanto PR rep, Sharon Watts, doesn't impress me.
It's no secret here that I don't support intimidation campaigns lobbied against major chains to pressure them into taking some stand just to get them off their backs.
I'm no fan of open carry, but I think it's a local call.
BTW, idiots walking around with ARs are such assholes.
Sorry, can't support Bloomberg's projects with Monsanto's moms.

(99,556 posts)Marta and I shop there. They are the 2 closest stores to us. The Omaha stores are non-union. Most of the cities nationwide are unionized. Well there is a Wal-mart grocery. I guess we will go there.
We signed the petition. The next step is to call the home office. Thanks to our reward card, they know just how much we buy a month. IF they don't do like other retailers have done and flipped on guns, we will go elsewhere.
Several DUers work for Kroger too.

(10,597 posts)... have you seen anyone carrying in your Kroger? I shop at Kroger and I have never seen anyone open carrying like the dudes in the pics. I have spent a ton of money at Kroger over my lifetime, so the way I see it, they owe me. Will confront the store manager tomorrow about their policy.

(99,556 posts)There is an open carry group that has been going into businesses that allow them in. So who knows.

(30,947 posts)and I have not seen anyone with a gun. And this is in Georgia where open carry has recently been legalized.

(135,425 posts)Now, on the one hand, if the "community standards" where the Kroger's is located allows that sort of thing, well, whoop-di-doo. The chain is probably going to bow to community sentiment.
What those images do for me is inspire me to SHOP ELSEWHERE.

(9,895 posts)If the police of the po-dunk towns and villages of Amerikkka can see their way to opening fire on and killing unarmed black youth, then I believe we should start seeing a lot more reports of police shooting armed white people...yeah, I won't hold my breath...

(28,876 posts)Now every gun nut is going to have to open carry there to "make a point".
Thanks for the heads up. Aldi, here I come.

(14,755 posts)And why did they pick a guy with such an ugly body for the no shirt pic?
Anybody able to explain that to me? Seems like it would have been better to show them looking happy.

(22,000 posts)You are right about showing someone who is equally as happy for comparison. Makes you wonder if the person without the gun is looking to eat someone for lunch.
