Chuck Todd to Interview President Barack Obama on 'Meet the Press'
NBC News' Chuck Todd will interview President Barack Obama on "Meet the Press" on Sunday.
The exclusive interview, which marks Todd's debut as permanent moderator of "Meet the Press," will cover the threat of ISIS, U.S. relations with Russia and Ukraine, the Ebola virus outbreak, the coming midterm elections and other news of the day, NBC News said Thursday.
Todd said last Sunday on the program that he hoped to reduce Americans' cynicism toward politics and politicians.
"The art of politics is a very important part of how the world governs itself, how America governs itself," he said. "If you have people who know how to practice the art of politics, the democracy gets stronger, the world gets safer, and that's when you realize politics is a good thing."

(4,259 posts)I'd love to hear what the President has to say but won't watch because of Todd. He's intolerable.

Dollars to donuts he talks over President Obama and puts words in his mouth. Thanks but no thanks.

(27,461 posts)the topics are important. I hope Todd is tough on him, asks follow-up questions etc., though I won't be shocked if he is not. My problem with corporate media is that they are too deferential to power.

(27,461 posts)politicians often filibuster to avoid answering questions, a good interviewer needs to interrupt at times.
