Top Anti-Immigrant Activist Charged With Sexual Abuse

Maryland GOP politician Michael Hethmon, who also serves as senior counsel for the Immigration Reform Law Institute, has been charged with child sexual abuse over claims that he molested an 8-year-old girl, according to WUSA.

Either death penalty or mandatory life sentence without parole. Not only is sexual abuse a heinous crime that causes lifelong scars for the victim, but sexual offenders are not capable of rehabilitation. They will inevitably strike again given the chance.

He's 60, he didn't just start molesting young girls.

As I understand it, sex offenders have one of the very highest rates of repeat offenses. They often have a long list of victims, and there is significant evidence that therapy or medication is completely ineffective at successfully treating sex offenders. They can't be rehabilitated, and they are an immense danger to society. They must be put away for good upon first offense.

I hope he does time for this and doesn't get off with counseling. As was
mentioned above, it's not likely this is the first occurrence.
