Chuck Todd: ...if I'm not working closely with Luke Russert, there's something wrong with me.

I suspect that as someone who is political director and moderator of Meet the Press if I'm not working closely with Luke Russert, there's something wrong with me.

And there you have it folks. This is the cream of the crop of American journalism in the 21st century. The top tier. The premiere outlet in broadcast news. The highest paid salaries in information gathering in the nation are being paid to people with this mindset.

Is it no wonder that a prostitute (literally a person who sells their body to strangers for sex) like Jeff Gannon can work among them and the highest paid reporters in the history of journalism are so clueless they don't even notice.

There is something wrong with you: You're an inside-the-beltway suckup who cares more about being connected and known as one of the insiders than you care about actually delivering useful commentary. You've been seduced by the thrill of rubbing shoulders with the important people - just like what happened to David Gregory, and we all saw how that turned out. If you think it's important for you to work closely with like Luke Russert - whose only "qualification" is that he is the larva of a well-known media figure - then there is something very seriously wrong with you. Sadly, it's what's wrong with every damn one of you.

Todd, who grew up in Miami, personally pleads not guilty to the charge of out-of-touch elitism—and hopes to prove it on MTP, especially with reported packages after the top-of-the-show newsmaker segment, featuring Todd traveling to Kansas and other such places to find worthy stories that are otherwise ignored by the Beltway media.

So Chuck thinks that by conducting some interview with some hick at a feed store in the middle Jesusland is what's missing in broadcast journalism? Here's a clue you idiot, most the people in this country live in big cities on the east and west coasts. You don't have to go to Kansas to talk to over represented, unsophisticated White people to find what how people are feeling about what's going on in the country. That's just what we need. More opinions of gun totin', Jebus lovin', people who never interact with minorities, openly gay people, or women who wear pants, and routinely vote against their own best interest; from right wing moocher states with populations less than my high school graduation class yet have the same amount of representation in the Senate from states with tens of millions more voters.
