Romney Says He Would Deport Obama’s Uncle

Dec 21, 2011

ASHLAND, N.H. (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney says he would deport President Barack Obama’s uncle, who police say was arrested in August for drunk driving near Boston and is (allegedly) an illegal immigrant.

In an interview with Boston radio host Howie Carr on Wednesday, Romney said “yes” when asked if Onyango Obama should be deported. Romney at first did not recognize the name, but said the nation’s immigration laws should be enforced.

Onyango Obama is the 67-year-old half-brother of the president’s late father. His case is pending in Framingham, Mass., District Court. He was initially held without bail on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on allegations he violated an order to return Kenya issued 20 years ago but has since been released.

Romney said he would deport Onyango Obama, but, not really 'deport' him.

He's not going to deport Onyango Obama, but will study having him deported.

Mitt says he stands firm on his decision.

Maybe.

you have the quote?

why would someone who intends to hold the highest office in the land comment on an individual immigration matter? It would make sense if the President commented. It's his uncle. But Romney doesn't look to be responding to anything the President has said. Maybe you can show differently.

6. This tells us more about the right wing radio crap and Howie Carr than Romney.

If Romney didn't know the guy's name, you can bet he hasn't been thinking about him much....but apparently Howie is worried about this and probably where the "real birth certificate" is.

That said, Romnsy continues to show he is full of shit and spit it out at the drop of the hat or the asking of a question. Anything to get elected.

As a Massachusetts resident, I'm often asked about Mitt Romney as governor. I'll tell you this: He served two years, then took off across the country to try to get elected president. That is all he cares about. Not America, not you, not me just Mitt, Mitt, Mitt. I think he actually thought getting the Mass health plan done was going to help him....backfired....didn't realize how wacko the Republicans have become.

Imagine instead Mitt spoke about forgiveness and understanding, and didn't take the stereotypical answer he THINKS people want to hear and instead presented something meaningful.
