In February, Karen Crespo, a 30-year-old from Los Angeles, contacted Hammer to tell her how inspired she was to see a woman in a wheelchair at the designers spring 2014 show....
On Sept. 5th, Crespo became the first quadruple-amputee to walk in New York Fashion Week.

(14,907 posts)or at least a bit jaded, or something, because my first thought on reading the title was "Well, I guess that's one way for a model to drop weight".
But seriously, this seems very cool. From the pictures in the article, it looks like she is making normal clothing, as fashion. And using normal people as models. Ive never understood fashion as a cultural phenomenon, but if its going to be a thing, that seems like the most worthy thing for it to be.
