1. Sweet, and no surprise.

My 98 year old Dad's hearing and vision are significantly impaired, so he can't enjoy the things he did in the past; used to read newspapers, watch baseball, loves music, which is very important in our family.

3. It must be very lonely for him.

I hope he can hear well enough to enjoy some music.

4. I think that too, mia,

but he does appear to be happy, in a pleasant assisted living facility near my brother's home. I visited recently, and brother told me he did recognize a song brother played on our piano recently. Its difficult for me to understand what he can hear; we have to shout into his right ear. I try not to dwell on how lonely he might feel, but there are people around him, and he does respond to them.
