(718 posts)He totally destroyed NBC's remaining credibility and integrity in his very first appearance as host of MTP. Why do they insist on promoting inept buffoons?

(17,590 posts)the start of every new anchor is good when curious people tune in and then quickly leave. Ask Katie Couric.
Also, he was interviewing the President.

(29 posts)In this country. We have replaced our news anchors with news actors reading from the corporate script. Simply propagating their views of the world in an attempt to influence the puplic to support their dream of oligarchy in "merica"

(20,815 posts)Chuck Todd is a world class example that Democrats are not allowed to speak about liberal issues nor are they even asked about them. We must focus on the conservative world view and any deviation must be apologized for. Meet the press is a depressing joke.

(7,480 posts)Chuck Todd has been a tool on MSNBC for some time. Every time he shows his smug face on MSNBC -- I turn the channel. I've felt that way for years. He's a slime ball and a right-wing shill.

(45,984 posts)I agree that he's acting like one, but do you know for a fact that he's taking money from them to act like a right wing tool.
The Koch family has connections to the far right. There father was a founding member of the John Birch Society, an organization dedicated to the destruction of American democracy and a twisted concept of liberty as the right of the "strong" to oppress the rest of us. They are enemies of the American people and spend their money, of which they obviously have too much, fighting to keep us in what they see as our "place." They are the most powerful men in America and responsible for racist voter ID laws, funding of the global-warming-is-a-hoax hoax, and a law in Oklahoma taxing homeowners who install solar panels. They vitually control the state governments of Wisconsin and North Carolina, and have purchased undue influence in other states. They have lobbied congressional Republicans to shut down the government and even to keep it shut down after Republican congressmen saw that the shutdown had recoiled on them.

(28,762 posts)some might question if he's a Koch plant.
It wasn't that long ago when he called President Obama stupid on Morning Joe.

(45,984 posts)I think he acts like a GOP hack (which in turn might have one asking if he's a Koch plant).
As a GOP hack, whether or not he's paid be the Koch brothers, he simply ignores the facts and runs ahead with his narrative. There can be no starker case in point than accusing the President of not saying Syria when the President is, in fact, talking explicitly about Syria and using the name of that country. The fellow conducting the interview is either a hack journalist or needs badly to clean the wax from his ears.
Given Mr. Todd's past statements concerning the President, I think we can safely say that he is a hack. I certainly hope NBC is in the process of replacing him before much longer.
I'm not blaming Raster for thinking that Mr. Todd is a Koch sucker. However, there are different levels of Koch operatives, of which Koch sucker is lowest. A Koch sucker is a Tea Party activist who believes that the Tea Party is a real grass roots movement and not a sinister anti-American organization financed and directed by a couple of billionaires with a Birch Society background. They're the people who showed up in the summer of 2009 at the town hall meetings of Democratic congressmen, after being bussed in a vehicle supplied by Dave and Charlie Koch, in order to shut down discussions of health care reform. Mr. Todd is too powerful, by virtue of his employment by the National Broadcasting Company, to be one of those. As the employee of what is putatively a legitimate news organization, he has facts at his disposal and his ignorance of them must be assumed to be more willful than the bumpkins the Kochs transported to town hall meetings in order to disrupt them. In other words, to associate him with the Kochs is to imply that he's being paid by them. That, by the way, would make him a Koch snorter or even a Koch dealer.
Since the Kochs' goal is to destroy American democracy, that would make Mr. Todd a subversive activist. Therefore, I do not believe this is the sort of accusation should be made as a throw away remark, but only if one has reason to believe that Mr. Todd is being paid by the Koch brothers to act as absurdly as he did last Sunday.

(429 posts)He's that milk toast, 'playing both sides', republican pc hack who has ruined any semblance of truth and fairness in politics. He is a big part of giving the appearance that everything is on the up and up and that everything is fair and balanced when it's not, by a long shot it's not. He needs to be routinely called out for the cheap dirty tricks that he plays on the American people.

(17,656 posts)He must have been thinking about making that remark to President Obama all night, the night before the interview, but, but, but he used it anyway . . . even after President Obama mentioned Syria 4 times.
Now, I'm a fair guy, and I can see that if President Obama had only mentioned Syria once before in that interview, up to that point in time, how Chuck might have missed it.
Or even if the President had mentioned Syria twice.
But, 4 times?!?
