I'm asking everybody on the DU for help

Would someone like to start the petition on a less invasive blog etc?

I love to listen to Bill Press on my way to work on Sirius-XM. But they changed the programming some time ago and moved his show to online only, so I can't listen on my way to work.

Please please sign my petition to Sirius-XM to put Bill's show back on channel 127 progress.

You need not be a subscriber to sign. A K&R would be great too.

OS

Bill Press offers consistent progressive values in an entertaining form. I first learned of Bill when Sirius-XM carried his show in it's entirety back when I got my first XM radio in 2009.

The current Sirius-XM exclusive show "The Agenda" isn't even close to what Bill's show offers. Listen to your paid subscribers. We want the Bill Press show in it's entirety like the old days on Progress 127 so I can listen in my car on the way to work. That is why we pay for programming in our cars, online, etc. in the first place.

here's a link to the WCPT website - Chicago's Progressive Radio Station.

http://chicagosprogressivetalk.com/programs/

They have a great line up of programs and I'm not so sure you couldn't record his program off this website and maybe download it to an ipod or iphone and play it back in your car. That is if you have an auxiliary jack to connect to.

Just a suggestion. I like to listen to Press as well - but I don't catch him everyday because of my work schedule.

If Bill Press got the corporate support Flush Limpnads has enjoyed, this would be a different country and planet.

I understand. Would you start a petition on a different less intrusive format to help?

MUCH more info at this link. I've been a member since 2005.

You can get it on ipad/ipod with the Sirius app or your pc. But agree, Progressive Plus isn't available on Car Sirius. But I listen thru my mobile phone using the Sirius app when I'm in the car.

with Sirius when they moved Thom Hartmann to nights and moved Michaelangelo Signoreli into Hartmann's the 3PM (eastern) time slot.

I fought with them for a couple of weeks trying to understand why they just dumped Hartmann. My conclusion was that they obviously didn't care about ratings or their listeners. I am guessing that they got much more revenue from their in house Signoreli show than the syndicated Hartmann Show. I even talked with the Hartmann people, who were also totally baffled by the move.

So I believe that the show they have on in place of Press is an in-house show that is much better for their bottom line than the syndicated Press. They don't care about you. The slice of people that listens to 127 is probably a very small slice of their subscribers.

BTW - after a lot of phone calls I did actually get to a customer service group. The number is not listed on the website and I can't remember how I got it. They did pretend to care but did nothing but gave me a 1/2 a year free. The interesting part is that they were located is some isolated part of Canada - New Brunswick IIRC.

Just like Am 760 was zapped off the air in Colorado for supposed low ratings, which we know is complete bullshit because 50% of Colorado tune in. It was our only progressive radio station. Republicans have begun systematic elimination of progressive news sources and personalities.
