#WhyIStayed You Had Pizza

Wow, seriously DiGiornio??
And then they tried to apologize

Savannah Steele @TheBlondShell

I was into reading the #WhyIStayed and #whyileft stories until @DiGiornoPizza ruined it.

@TheBlondShell I'm so sorry for invading that space. It was a terrible misunderstanding of what the hashtag was about. I am so so sorry.

Maybe some people/companies shouldn't use Social Media

There are countless hashtags and a lot of them overlap. There was one for a TV series in Japan called Red Data Girl and the company used RDG as their hashtag for fans to talk about it. But there was also some township in Pennsylvania I think that used it as well and they were furious that it was overtaken.

WhyIStayed means something today, meant something different a day ago and will morph again in the next week as it takes on its own life.

It's not static.

post in their own hashtag area. Social media kiddies who get paid a small amount to spam twitter are simply not motivated to tweet carefully. Volume matters more than content to them.

It's one of the things I stress when I consult on social media for my website clients. Do not use your twitter account to post anywhere but in your own space. That's my rule for safe commercial twitter accounts.

The reality is that most of my clients have never really benefited from social media. They hear constantly that they need to be in social media, but don't hear any really good reason why. Why would a residential HVAC need a social media campaign. People's furnace or AC quits or they need a new one. They search on Google. They don't search Twitter or Facebook. Social media is useless for many types of business. On the other hand, a trendy restaurant or club really, really needs an effective social media presence.

Fortunately, the influx of new social media "experts" has slowed down, due to an extreme oversupply.
