Fingerprints in Oklahoma victim's car match convicted rapist, police testify during cold case murder
A fingerprint taken from the interior of the car of a missing woman later found strangled in northwest Oklahoma City matched a convicted rapist in a cold case murder trial.
The print matched 63-year-old Thomas Levering, Oklahoma City police fingerprint examiner Yvonna Hill testified during his trial on a first-degree murder charge Wednesday in Oklahoma County District Court.
The fingerprint was lifted from the rearview mirror of 38-year-old Jerry Ann Watsons car, former Oklahoma City police crime scene investigator Don Cravens testified.
The car was found in the Penn Square Mall parking lot in December 1975. Her strangled body was found weeks later by a hunter near NW 178 and Rockwell Avenue. A pair of pantyhose or a stocking was found around her neck.
