1. Adrenalin is an interesting thing

It's hard to say what one would do in the actual heat of the moment.

I always think of the guys in the first wave of the landing craft on D-day. Never fired a weapon in anger, and rocking on the waves while machine gun fire is bouncing off of the front ramp like a drum roll... knowing that in a few moments that ramp is going down and those bullets are coming in, and you are, maybe, jumping into the water to shoot back with a rifle.

There is something else that possesses people in those moments which calm reflection says, "That's just crazy." But everyday ordinary people go wading onto that beach.
