By Dana Milbank Opinion writer September 10 at 9:59 PM
It was just like the good old days.
Scooter Libby was in the front row. Paul Wolfowitz was in the second. And on the stage was Dick Cheney, beating the drums of war.
The situation is dire, and defeating these terrorists will require immediate, sustained, simultaneous action across multiple fronts, the former vice president proclaimed in a pre-buttal to President Obamas prime-time speech on fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
We should immediately hit them in their sanctuaries, staging areas, command centers and lines of communication wherever we find them, Cheney told the audience at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.
We are at war, he said, and we must do what it takes, for as long as it takes, to win. This means we should halt the drawdown of our troops in Afghanistan, that we should take military action if necessary in Iran, and give full backing and support of those fighting the Muslim Brotherhood.
In summary: War, war and more war.

That man is pure evil but he's 'immune' from prosecution apparently. At least in this country.
I have a suggestion for him, now that he has a new heart. He is more than welcome to sign up, aren't we signing up Vietnam Veterans these days, and head off to war himself.
Who is this 'we' he speaks of? 'We must do whatever it takes'??? Or I would settle for a good old-fashioned duel between him and whoever the latest 'enemy' is.
That is one sick human being.

(5,842 posts)I don't think I've ever said that about any leader (although Putin is getting close).
I'm going to relish the fact that Cheney's either going to have to buried on private ground or have a 24-7 guard around his final resting place just so it doesn't get desecrated within hours of him being laid to rest.
