Florida woman creates $1000 handbags made of dog hair.

Florida woman making purses from dog hair

A Tampa woman is hoping to start a new fashion trend by turning dog hair into high-end purses, WPTV reports.

Doris Carvalho, 50, has started a Kickstarter.com crowdfunding campaign to raise $15,000 to make her environmentally friendly purses that can be made from your own pet's hair. She can also use donated pet hair from a local groomer.

The campaign, called "Fur You By Doris," has only raised $440 since starting 48 days ago, but Carvalho hopes to reach her goal.

The purses and handbags currently sell for about $1,000 each, but Carvalho hopes to bring the cost down with mass production. It currently takes about 50 hours a week to complete one purse.

...and we can make a fortune. I swear, I can brush that cat all day and there would be NO END to the loose fur.
