Do you agree with Michael Moore that Obama's ONLY accomplishment is being black while in office?

"When the history is written of this era, this is how you'll be remembered: he was the first black president," Moore said during a discussion at The Hollywood Reporter's video lounge at the Toronto Film Festival.

"OK, not a bad accomplishment, but that's it," the director said. "That's it, Mr. Obama. 100 years from now, 'he was the first black American that got elected president' and that's it.

I think he was trying to "wake the President" up and get back to progressive issues. Notice the timing.....postpone the immigration reform. I think Michael was speaking with disappointment.

By telling Wall $treet he was there to rescue them he burned through a lot of good will with me he could never get back.

from a financial crisis that could have been worse than the Great Depression, if it hadn't been averted.

The $800 million stimulus was passed under Obama's watch. He wanted a bigger stimulus -- $1.2 million -- and the Rethugs wanted no stimulus. He won.

And he passed the first universal healthcare law ever, despite the concerted opposition of the Rethugs. He will be remembered historically for that, too.

And for being the first President who advocated for marriage equality.

Anyone who denies that these are significant accomplishments is dishonest.

I'm grateful every single day for the pre-existing condition pool that took me in and allowed me to get surgery to relieve the pain that was giving me thoughts of suicide. I disagree with Michael Moore big time.

Millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions are now covered under Obamacare and lives are being saved.

It's a great accomplishment, but insignificant according to Michael Moore.

What an unfortunate bit of writing.

While BO has been a profound disappointment, somehow I think he will be one of the least destructive CoCs we'll have in the 21st century.

It would have been nice to have a CoC that actually tried to improve the country.

shave $140/month off our payment, or 21%, due to 3% interest vs. 8.5%. Over 20 years, that's $33,600!

Because I know someone who ended up losing her house in that deal. Could have been the unscrupulous actions of one bank, I don't know. She was current on payments so they told her not to make the next payment while the re-fi was being set up and then they foreclosed on her! I don't want to derail this thread so if you could share your experience in a thread I'd really appreciate it.
