Dear NFL: Rihanna, domestic violence, and tonight's game in Baltimore

Dear NFL:

The musical opening act for tonight's Steelers-Ravens game is Rihanna, who was the victim of domestic violence at the hands of her then-boyfriend, Chris Brown. After he beat the shit out of her, he got a tattoo on his neck of a woman with a black eye. The game is in Baltimore, former home city of Ray Rice, who has not gotten any new tattoos of his own battered wife so far as we know.

This is not to blame the victim of domestic violence, as the Ravens did with that Tweet about how Rice's wife regrets her role in all this. Rihanna can play where she damn pleases. It is merely to say that you people are fucking idiots.

Sincerely,

Fucking EVERYONE

P.S. I hope she says something strong about domestic violence and your grotesque handling of this ongoing situation, right there on live TV and in the face of your failure of a commissioner. I won't think less of her if she doesn't, but O God, I hope she does.

He is still playing football despite allegedly raping a woman. (he settled the lawsuit) While not domestic violence, it is still violence committed against a woman.

I misread the article. Sounds like just the CBS broadcast was pulled, and she will still perform for the stadium crowd.

To be used each Thursday night before the game. Like they used to use Hank Williams Jr. for Monday Night Football. Right?
