http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/09/11/1328992/-Chick-fil-A-demotes-woman-after-she-took-time-off-for-a-double-mastectomyRichards' documents show that not only was she being demoted, she was going from a 40-plus hour work week to a 10-to-15-hour week and her hourly wage was dropping from $14 to $10 per hour.
After the story began gaining attention, management eventually offered to increase her hours, but maintain she was demoted for poor performance and out of concern she wouldn't be able to handle the work load....
So much for operating the company based on "biblical values."

(7,419 posts)I worked for one such corp. They demanded a lot but they compensated for it. Restaurant management is a tough gig but you can make a good living at it, more so in full service than in fast food but still possible in fast food.
marym625
(17,997 posts)but this place, like so many, did not compensate for all the work and loss of personal life.

If we're your employees, you don't get to treat us like dirt. It should be that simple. I'm still wondering why we haven't had a worker's revolution in this country.
