Should we seek diplomatic relations with the Islamic State?

Perhaps we can offer them food, money, and building materials if they agree to quit decapitating people and settle on their current borders?

After all, isn't refusing to recognize a government, and recognizing their opposition instead, pretty much the same as being at war with it?

And we cannot ignore them, and whether anyone likes it or not, they are starting to assume traditional government roles, like civic administration.

Heck, once you get past the religious exclusiveness and their love of cold-blooded murder, they ARE pretty generous with providing food and other aid to Sunni Muslims who accept them.

Within their community, they are winning hearts and minds, gaining popular support. Outside of their community, of course, it is another matter.
