What More Will It Take to Arrest Darren Wilson?

“Hands up, don’t shoot!” has been the cry of the thousands who took to the streets seeking justice for Michael Brown, the unarmed 18-year-old who was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri, by Officer Darren Wilson on August 9. According to multiple witnesses, Brown had his hands in the air—a gesture generally understood to signal surrender—when Wilson shot him to death. The police have a different story: they say Brown was the aggressor, having reached for Wilson’s gun while the officer was still in his vehicle, and later charging toward Wilson. This version of the story, frankly, sounds ridiculous. And now there’s more reason that ever to doubt the police’s explanation. CNN has reported on two witnesses that had not previously given statements to journalists:

Two men, shocked at what they saw, describe an unarmed teenager with his hands up in the air as he’s gunned down by a police officer. They were contractors doing construction work in Ferguson, Missouri, on the day Michael Brown was killed. And the men, who asked not to be identified after CNN contacted them, said they were about 50 feet away from Officer Darren Wilson when he opened fire. An exclusive cell phone video captures their reactions during the moments just after the shooting.

“He had his f**n hands up,” one of the men says in the video. The man told CNN he heard one gunshot, then another shot about 30 seconds later. “The cop didn’t say get on the ground. He just kept shooting,” the man said. That same witness described the gruesome scene, saying he saw Brown’s “brains come out of his head,” again stating, “his hands were up.”

At this point, I need someone to answer this question for me like I’m stupid: What else is needed to arrest Darren Wilson? I’m not asking what a prosecutor would need to for a murder conviction, or even what a grand jury would need to bring formal charges. What else is needed for police to say, “Darren Wilson, you shot and killed someone, you are under arrest”? What more?

figuratively speaking that is. Soon after a fair and just trial adn if found guilty he should be locked up with the key to the cell thrown away. No way is this cretin an innocent man otherwise he'd be up front and center instead of being hidden by the police department. The police department of Ferguson Mo needs to be disbanded and a new one put in its place. No one there has shown they can be trusted, 'cept the black people who are pissed about all this. I feel we can trust them. You can only hold people down so long before they get to a point of I've had enough, they're there.

as long as they have, all documented btw. The color of their skin has nothing to do with that trust, rather was only said to point out that as a group they've been treated like hell for a long time and possibly ain't gonna' take it anymore. This old white man is in their corner

Ok, I'll try. When you have as many witnesses as has come forward whose stories that all collaborate with one another like has been the case here you can be pretty sure that they are all telling the truth. pretty simple to figure that out I would thinK

I always get a good chuckle out of auto-removed posts in conversations.

The non-existent messages and replies crack me up for some reason.

came forward immediately, were independent of each other, and had the same story. If four white witnesses immediately and independently had the same story, someone would be in jail. Eye witnesses are usually enough for that. Why not in this case?

I'm glad you said what you said since that seems to be what a lot of racist whites believe. (er... not saying you're racist, )

Try and stick around awhile. You're a lot of fun!

but the fact is, that's why Darren Wilson hasn't been arrested yet. If those had been white witnesses who saw a black police officer shoot a white teenager and said his hands were up at the time, we all know the police officer would be in jail.

the police way over reacted and the onus is on them. They don' like that. They made a bad situation way worse and they now know that and hope like hell this will pass, is my guess.
officer Wilson should be in jail or possibly out on bail awaiting trial right now not hidden out somewhere to keep the eyes off him
