This May Not Make Sense Because I Don't Know Much About
War planes. I'm almost afraid to post this because I don't want a knock on my door, so I'll just ask a question. I live south of Tampa, FL where there's still a military base. But we just saw something like jets flying over our houses. Yes, we're females but these planes/jets were really moving super fast going further south.
Does this make any sense to anyone? I honestly don't think war planes would be flying in this area, seems like it would be much further north. Does anyone have any idea what we may have seen? There is a flight path for regular planes that do fly over occasionally, but we don't have planes flying overhead much because the local airport isn't enormous. I think I'm sounding like I saw a UFO or something, but it wasn't normal anyway. Perhaps someone who lives south of Tampa might know what I'm talking about. Mostly, I don't want to be starting rumors or gossip, just wondering. ![]() ![]()

3. Okay, Wrong Way To Say That...
Not military types who have a great interest in watching military shows. However I do watch a lot of alternative TV like Thom Hartmann, etc. I realize females are well entrenched in all walks of life and have military careers. This is not a military city so there are rarely people walking around in fatigues like one would see at Ft. Hood, TX. I used that name because my father was in the Army and I grew up as an Army brat. But that was some time ago.
My familiarity with all things military is limited because I have other interests and different topics that I prefer. Even here... Oh well. |

2. Sounds like McDill AFB. If you live near an AFB, you're
going to see planes flying in and out of it sometimes. Nothing weird, I think.

5. Yes, McDill Is To The North, But
I've lived here for many, many years as has my neighbor. It kind of surprised us because it wasn't anything normal. Seems they would have been headed across the state to Orlando where there's another military base.
Just wondering. Probably nothing. |

8. I live about 10 miles from Dobbins Air Reserve Base
and planes are constantly flying over my area. I am not alarmed. Plus, I used to work just across the street from Dobbins and was accustomed to seeing and hearing the planes flying in and out.

4. A military base
Nearby then depending on wind directions which way the aircraft take off and all that also sometimes depending on local events they will fly a different departure heading also dependent on where they are going.
