Palin Shailey Tripp Sex Scandal.
Note: It points the finger directly at the McKenna Bros Paving Company. Looks like there's some big money laundering happening. Wonder if it's all part of Todd Palin's alleged prostitution ring?
Boys Will Be Boys: Media, Morality and the Cover-up of the Todd Palin Shailey Tripp Sex Scandal is the true story of how Shailey Tripp, a young single mother of two special needs children became sexually involved with Todd Palin, husband of former Alaska Governor and 2008 GOP Vice-Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin.
This book explains the many factors that culminated in Shailey becoming not only the mistress of Alaskas First Dude but also a prostitute working for him which ultimately resulted in Shailey being arrested in March of 2010. However, the story doesnt end there. After they received an anonymous email, The National Enquirer contacted Shailey regarding her relationship with Todd Palin and even ran a couple of stories about her liaison with him with several follow-up interviews scheduled.
All that changed, when at the behest of the Palins lawyers, the Anchorage Police Department issued a press release which stated that they had found no evidence of Todds involvement with Shailey.
From that point on, Shailey was unable to get any media, with the exception of some internet bloggers, to tell her side of things despite the fact that she had proof of her truthfulness and had passed polygraph examinations. Boys Will Be Boys tells the whole story from Shaileys viewpoint and includes the evidence. A true expose of how the media and even law enforcement agencies kowtow to the wealthy, politically powerful people, Boys Will Be Boys: Media, Morality and the Cover-up of the Todd Palin Shailey Tripp Sex Scandal is a must read.

(46,327 posts)But so far all we have on this "scandal" is the woman's word for it.
It might be true, and the Palin family is using their "pull" to cover it up.
But it might also be a "Barack Obama did crack and had gay sex" story.
In other words, bullshit.
Besides, the National Enquirer has about the credibility of WND.
Not much more, but a little.

(57,936 posts)I think that the National Enquirer uses pretty sophisticated research methods (legal I do not know) these days. But skepticism is appropriate. The National Enquirer reports all sorts of nonsense but usually tries to be "safe" with its titillating tales -- picks on people who won't sue, includes a morsel of truth, phrases things as hypotheses, opinion or tells that the story is unbelievable but what if. The National Enquirer has been in business a long time.
The National Enquirer was successfully sued by Carol Burnett.

It's been a long time. I don't know whether that journalistic marvel has been sued since.

For what it's worth, we might also recall that the National Enquirer was targeted by the 2001 anthrax attacks. There were conspiracy theories floating around to the effect that they had compromising pictures of Bush, but I don't believe anything solid was ever proven.

(15,238 posts)The National Enquirer did nail Gary Hart. Obama derangement Syndrome has fueled smoke from birth certificate to Romney's Benghazi (still ongoing despite no evidence). The Palin smoke is just odd personal stuff surrounding strange events such as a brother in law, pregnancy, city debt acquired while mayor of Wassilla, resignation from Governor. Really all of this does not matter much except for entertainment value. I do not think people are out to get Sarah Palin and company she does such an excellent job herself.

No flaming intended but as me dear ol' mudder used ta say: "You speak from a wealth of ignorance."
Assumably, that's why your opinion is so equivocal as to suggest multiple personalites -- "It might be true" but then again maybe it's "bullshit."
Having followed Shailey Tripp's saga since the National Enquirer story broke in January of 2011, I'd say the best proof she's telling the truth is that she's provided two verbal statements and one written statement to the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs investigation into Secret Service misconduct.
In each, she describes working as a prostitute in Alaska with Todd Palin as her pimp, and among the clients he arranged for her to have a paid sexual encounter with was Secret Service agent David Chaney, who resigned in disgrace for his part in the Cartagena scandal.
It was only because of that scandal that Tripp was able to identify him. When it broke in March of 2012 (less than a year after the NE article) she came across a picture of Chaney and immediately recognized him as one of the clients Todd set her up with.
She searched her records and found the credit card transaction from her session with him. In fact, his payment made him especially memorable -- he'd purposely short-changed her, just as he'd done with the prostitutes in Cartagena.
She presents what I (obviously) found to be convincing evidence of her claims -- including police documents, her own written records and some intimate personal details about Todd -- in her book, "Boys Will Be Boys: Media, Morality and the Cover-up of the Todd Palin Shailey Tripp Sex Scandal":
http://www.amazon.com/Boys-Will-Be-Shailey-Tripp-ebook/dp/B008916PCE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-1&keywords=shailey+tripp+boys+will+be+boys
And though hardly conclusive, it's still worth noting that the notoriously vengeful and litigious Palins have, to date, brought NO legal action against Tripp. She and her family have, however, suffered extensive harrassment and death threats as have others who've crossed the Palins.
Another excellent source of detailed, well-sourced information about Todd's sex trafficking is Malia Litman's blog:
http://malialitman.wordpress.com/2013/07/10/timeline-of-events-re-attempts-to-confirm-todd-palin-was-shailey-tripps-pimp/
Litman's been trying to FOIA records pertaining to Todd Palin and/or David Chaney from the Senate Subcomittee's Secret Service investigation FOR OVER TWO YEARS. The only results have been bureaucratic runaround, stonewalling and, like Tripp, anonymous harrassment and threats.
http://malialitman.wordpress.com/?s=FOIA
I've seen nothing that even suggests Tripp is motivated by greed or publicity-seeking. And just so it's clear, I'm a devout skeptic and not affiliated with her in any way -- her story intrigued me and after considering all her evidence, I found it convincing. IMO, she's a witness to some sickening corruption that seems to stretch to the highest levels of our government and all she's trying to do is expose it.
I respectfully suggest you take the time to educate yourself about her story before posting an opinion about it.

(55,981 posts)opportunity to mention that if one is intending on buying from Amazon (and not Powell Books) be sure to look into Amazon Smile. Same products (as far as I can tell) and same prices but they will donate a portion of your purchase price to your favorite charity.
