1. What's his alternative?

Head in the sand? Pay billions in extortion money? Negotiate with the beheaders? Stay home and watch the slaughter on TV until a big bomb explodes in New York?

I've seen a lot of knee-jerk reactions by armchair "experts" who think of something that might not work and so take the liberty to declare the whole thing a big mistake. They typically offer no alternatives to stopping military aggression and barbarism with appropriate force.

There are no good or easy choices. Unlike Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and their profiteering pals, this is not something Obama wanted to do.

4. NO, sadly we must do something about it...we killed off a powerful secular dictator

and now have to deal with the repercussion, even after all this time and in Obama's 2nd term...actions have consequences and this is one of them. When people vote for the GOP to be in power, we end up in wars. A lesson all Americans need to learn.
