John Crawford Witness Changes Tune

When the news about John Crawford broke, much was made about the witness, the WHITE witness, who called the police and then paraded around the news shows railing about how this young Black father deserved to be gunned down. And he was given extreme credibility because well, "Because he was ex-military".

A lot of us smelled bullshit. But lots of folks, even some here on DU accepted his word uncritically.

Well, lookie...lookie...lookie....

Damn Black life is cheap in this country! Dozens of Black witnesses in the Mike brown case have their every motive and perception analyzed but this one asshole can say whatever he wants.

Where are the people who hung their hat on this assholes need to smear an innocent black man?

This killing happened in my neighborhood essentially... I know the corruption here is equal to that in Sanford Florida and Ferguson Missouri. Home state of John Bohner where this incident location is just outside of his gerrymandered congressional district.

I recall vividly when WHIOTV-7 had the Breaking News with the only 911 caller, Richie running his jibs as if he was a hero. His account was on all local news channels so the evidence should still be around. Him changing the story following his private viewing of the Walmart video clips of the event is just criminal!

If DeWine and company have their way, justice will not prevail. I was pleased that Melissa Harris-Perry had the attorneys on her program today. Only ongoing media attention will keep them somewhat forthcoming....

Because John Crawfords life and how it ended us worthy of at least as much discussion as a redneck Alaskan brawl.

there should be consequences.

Usually I hate that law, but in this case it should be applied.

Of course, this in no way should excuse the cops who pulled their triggers. They should be charged, too. Murder is the correct charge for them, I believe.

... but this is the first I've heard of this story.

Let me see if I've got this right: In this current environment, where white Open Carry enthusiasts are parading their assault rifles around grocery stores and restaurants with impunity, a black man picked up a BB gun at a Walmart--and was shot dead on sight by police?

Seriously?!

Why is this story, assuming I've got it right, not getting non-stop coverage?

That's pretty much it. The "witness" in this story was all over the news after it happened and then it died down

Then things in Ferguson really heated up. I also think that because of this guys comments, not as much attention was paid to it because his original narrative made it seem somewhat justifiable.

another racist execution based on lies and distortion from someone who fears 'others', it looks like. How can this continue to be tolerated? I'm getting fed up with this bullshit. Young black man in another state sanctioned murder/execution because some failed marine had some agenda he was working from. Want to speculate on that agenda? I already know it, no speculation necessary
