The three Omaha police officers who fired their guns during an encounter with a man committing a robbery of a fast-food restaurant employee last month will return to work on Monday, a department spokeswoman said.

The suspect and an audio mixer employed by the reality TV program “Cops” were shot to death Aug. 26 at the Wendy’s at 4308 Dodge St.

Officers Darren Cunningham, Brooks Riley and Jason Wilhelm have been on administrative leave. An Internal Affairs investigation has not concluded and will not end until a grand jury considers the case, the spokeswoman, Lt. Darci Tierney, said.
