Laura Stastny, Executive Director of Nebraska Wildlife Rehab Inc. walks through a pasture as she releases "Barrett" the badger back into the wild.
It was a first in Stastnys 13 years with the organization. And it was a success. The fully grown badger was released back into the wild on Saturday.
The organization attempts to rescue nearly 4,000 animals a year, but only about 20 are predators such as fox, coyote, bobcats and badgers. In Nebraska, it is illegal to rehab the states top predators like mountain lions and rarely if ever seen bears and wolves.
