Memo to President Obama:

Don't fall for it.

The neo-cons want back into Iraq and Kurdistan in the worst way. Their argument about "boots on the ground" tells us that they want a full-scale war. Look ahead Mr President.

Don't give them the full legitimacy to start another war in Iraq. Keep your Party out of this mess. It is understandable that political necessity dictate that you do "something". After all, an election is coming up. But, under no circumstances, should you follow the dictates of the neo-cons.

In fact, you should inform the American people that the advisers in Iraq at the moment will soon be withdrawn. We should be willing to help our allies in the region but ISIS is not an imminent threat to America. We will not be suckered into another ground war in that part of the world. The American people do not want more war. It is a losing issue for future elections, Mr President.

This civil war and Middle East stability was created by the invasion of Iraq in 2003. We are reaping what we have sown. We should sow no more.

strategy except to leave office in 2017.

There is no guarantee who the next prez while be or how they will "resolve" the war. It is very possible that a repug could take the WH and "surge" with ground troops to "get the job done." Especially if it seems that the military action is languishing or if there are more sensationalist acts from ISIS.
