Why do we disaprove of killing innocent people?

I believe we disapprove of murdering innocent people because it is a direct cause of human death and suffering (duh). Untimely deaths and intense suffering are generally things people wish to avoid.

What is 700 times more dangerous than ISIS? Hunger.

According to The Guardian, ISIS kills about 30 people each day.
According to the UN, hunger kills about 21,000 people each day.

Yet where is the attention of our leaders? Why do the deaths of those 30 people outweigh the deaths of 21,000? Do they really care about those 30 people? I'm guessing they don't care. I'm guessing there are other motivations. Perhaps money. Just a guess.
Here is thread about the money angle: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10025532054

What do you think? Why is murder is soooo terrible?

Some links if you wish to check the math. I have a cold, so my math could easily be way off.

while hunger takes its time, slowly devouring life after life. You can't reduce the condition of hunger to a single image or sound byte, except when the sufferers are nearly at the end.

Hunger could have a marketing issue.

Do you think our leaders, such as President Obama, have a difficult time seeing through marketing?

I would like to think he's smarter than that, but I don't really know.

In some cases it's the result of the failure of capitalism. It is almost always no matter what system it falls under the result of keeping people from access to resources, including but not limited to jobs, healthcare, education, and transportation.

Hell, John Kerry just gave Fattah al-Sissi a lapdance, that guy's killed around six thousand Egyptians and sentenced nearly two thousand more to death for having the wrong party membership. we stroke off israel and suck Saudi Arabia's little withered dick all the live long day. We'll fund and arm cannibals in Syria, and back psychopathic dictators the world over.

But when Putin and Assad or IS kill people, we pretend they're the first assholes in the history of assholes to come up with the concept. Now, we don't stop our own butchery, and we don't stop the butchery of our "allies." we just excuse it - it's okay because it's us, and bad when they do it becuase they're them (I didn't say it was a GOOD excuse...)

And of course the entire time we turn a blind eye to deaths from capitalism, as you describe. Deaths from hunger. From bad water. From lack of medicine. From lack of shelter. all these things that we can solve by applying money. our vast wealth.

Seven trillion slurped up to waste on killing people for being the wrong race or religion, barely a dime to care for the hungry in our own nation. And this is under a Democratic administration, it only gets worse with Republicans.
