Though I am tentatively leaning for Hillary.

(14,733 posts)that she pulled either one out of the Senate for a lousy VP spot.
But I'd vote for either of them even if they had her as their VP, since I think they're both in decent health.

(23,156 posts)Not Warren or Sanders or whoever else her VP might be.
I think Hillary Clinton would make a terrible President. She's too old. She's too much a creature of the past. She represents the Republican wing of the Democratic Party.
Back in late '07, early '08, I ran across some college students who were all ga-ga over the possibility of Condi Rice running for President. It was crystal clear that they only saw that she was female and black, and thought she'd just be perfect. They hadn't a clue how completely unsuited for running for the office, let alone how spectacularly unsuited she was for the job.
And yes, I know all of you Hillary defenders are going to say you are thinking and that you think she'd make a wonderful President, and I'm saying you're wrong. She's not progressive. She does not support the middle and working classes. She's happy with bank bailouts and wars. I'm sure she's a wonderful human being, but I do not want her as President.

(7,321 posts)I've been trying to make, only to fall on deaf ears wrt to HRC. Because of the policies she supports, I don't want her to be the first woman to take that office.
It's important to me, that the first Woman president of the U.S. actually represent the poor and working class families.. AND be firm in opposing the MIC and Wall Street's blood thirsty machinations for more wars for profits as well as long list of other domestic policy issues.

(20,176 posts)That's why the time to end Clinton's candidacy is now. If she gets the nomination or even has a strong start to the primary season, I'm probably stuck with her. I'd rather eat broken glass coated in pepper-spray than have Hillary Clinton as President but I probably don't have another choice...any other viable choice would have my support if it meant keeping both the GOP and the GOP-wannabe Clinton out of the Oval Office.
That's why the "focus on 2014 right fucking now, people!" people annoy the fuck out of me. I can't concentrate solely on 2014...this is my best opportunity to end a Clinton candidacy--before it starts in earnest.

(4,876 posts)Although I would really love to see a woman President...
I have too much respect for both Warren and Sanders to want to see either of them being used as a prop to win over the base.
Especially when I doubt Clinton would ever be interested in their counsel as President, since her core beliefs are the polar opposite.

can't stand her or her foreign policy
CakeGrrl
(10,611 posts)which is more than what some of Hillary's supporters could manage in 2008.
I won't lift a finger for her until then. She has bad instincts.
From hiring GOP operative Mark Penn, to criticizing President Obama's foreign policy, then walking that back when the water tested too hot, to the hints from her Iowa Steak Fry appearance this weekend that she's going to try to run on taking credit for the ACA/Obamacare (WTF?), I get a strong sense that an HRC presidency would be a series of missteps and walk-backs, and finding dangerous "common ground" with the GOP in Congress.

(14,195 posts)It would be a first for me, not supporting the Dem nominee, and I am hoping it doesn't come to that. She was not the nominee last time even with all the "inevitable" bs. Hoping she decides to stay out of this one altogether.

I don't think the DLC third party types get she isn't wanted no matter how she is packaged. We are no longer going to be suckered by packaging. We want substance, and that is far different than what they have been pushing.
They just don't get it. No amount of lipstick will work
