Fischer: The Sale Of Bacon Proves That America Is A Christian Nation
Submitted by Kyle Mantyla on Tuesday, 9/16/2014 11:38 am
On his radio show yesterday, Bryan Fischer brought up a three year-old incident in which an employee at a Halal-friendly KFC in Australia was suspended for abusing a customer who asked for bacon as concrete proof that America is a Christian nation. "You want one single item of proof that America is a Christian nation and not a Jewish nation and not an Islamic nation?" he asked. "One single bit of proof is all you need: we freely allow restaurants and grocery stores to sell and to serve bacon. That can only happen in a Christian country." "So the sheer fact that we freely allow the sale and consumption of bacon," he continued, "is absolute proof that we are, in fact, a Christian nation":

Perkins: Separation Of Church And State Helps ISIS
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 9/16/2014 10:45 am
The Family Research Councils Tony Perkins said today that the separation of church and state in the United States has contributed to the rise of Islamic extremist groups like ISIS, arguing in his radio commentary that ISIS has filled the void left by secularism. According to Perkins, American ISIS militants wouldnt have left the country to fight for the group if only the government had promoted Christianity over other faiths.

(33,688 posts)that Perkins has hit. Fischer is too dumb to even comment on. I do like bacon, though.

(29,047 posts)If he means Christianity is the majority religion, then I believe he is correct. I think I understand what he is saying about bacon sales, but I'm not convinced it's evidence for a Christian nation.

(5,364 posts)He just thinks he's being clever by trying to make his "evidence" sound clinically based. Your observation is probably statistically correct, but that's not what they mean when they say it.
"Christian Nation" means to them a theocracy. Plenty of other charlatans of his ilk make no bones about it.

(39,215 posts)nothing at all. Many people who are not Christian eat bacon.
However there is a reason why he thinks this. In the Old Testament it specifically tells Jews not to eat pork. Many Jewish people follow this tradition even today. The New Testament church ate ham on Easter as a symbol that they were free from the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament. I do not know the dating of this idea but again many Christians still follow the tradition of ham at Easter.
But that says nothing about what religion our nation is.
